We explored five musical interpretations of the "Cinderella" story all week long on "Intermezzo." Host Christy L'Esperance and co-host Ivy explore how composers and storytellers have reimagined this well-known tale.
Monday featured Gioachino Rossini’s opera "La Cenerentola." On Tuesday, we heard Sergei Prokofiev’s ballet score. Wednesday examined all-orchestral interpretations of the story. Thursday focused on the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, and Friday concluded with contemporary film adaptations.

Today, we present all five segments as one complete radio play. Our "Intermezzo" version combines the week’s storytelling into a single, continuous narrative, with hosts Christy and Ivy, and cameos by Interlochen Public Radio staff.
It's Cinderella’s story in one sitting and one seamless audio experience.
