Pack a picnic and enjoy live local music at Pennsylvania Park during Crooked Tree Arts Center’s summer Concerts in the Park series, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon – 1 pm.
Join the Glen Lake Association's watershed biologists on a fun and educational hands-on tour of Glen Lake on our Discovery Boat (ages 8+). As you cruise along the water, you’ll learn how area lakes were formed, what influences water quality, how to keep the watershed healthy, and so much more.
Two-hour tours run twice per day at 10 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. on June 26, July 10, July 18, July 24, July 31, August 14.

Come hang out with us for live music. We'll be serving wine, seasonal cocktails, cider, coffee, and tapas-style small plates to share. Bring your crew or show up solo — Dune Bird is that kind of place.

Round up the family and head out to Coy Mountain, located at 9011 Valley St. in Alden, to enjoy a romp in the woods and reading a good book along the way.
A new story will be placed each month and covers about a 1/2-mile portion of the trail. Open daily from dawn to dusk. The storybook for the month of June is “The Home Builders” by Varsha Bajaj. Sponsored by Alden District Library
Get set for an exciting morning of racing at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center. 150 young racers will showcase their skills and determination on the balance bike course, and you can cheer them on to the finish line!
This event is free and open exclusively to balance bikes for young riders aged 2-5.
This open-air, juried fine art and fine crafts show will feature fine artists across a variety of media, including: clay, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, sculpture and more.
Join community members of all ages in celebrating the founding of our nation in a joyous and patriotic ceremony, 10 am, July 4th at Old Settlers Picnic Grounds on Glen Lake. The traditional raising of the flag by the Glen Lake Fire Department will be followed by a singalong of well-loved and familiar patriotic songs. The event is sponsored by the Glen Lake Woman’s Club. Bench seating is limited and guests are invited to bring lawn chairs. After the program the chapel at Old Settlers Park will be open for tours. The Ceremony and Chapel tours are concluded in plenty of time to make it to the Glen Arbor Parade.
Marge Maxbauer, Chair of the 4th of July Celebration Committee, is pleased to announce that Ed Peplinski is the featured speaker. Mr. Peplinski is an Air Force Veteran. His Independence Day speech is titled, “Pulling Together as Americans through Gratitude.”
In addition to the 4th of July Flag Raising Ceremony, other Club projects include The Glen Arbor Art Fair (July 15th), the improvement and beautification of the Chapel and grounds at Old Settlers Park, Empire Trunk or Treat, and a Christmas party for residents of the Maple Valley Nursing Home. Celebrate Independence Day with a little inspiration at Art in the Park on Saturday, July 4, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Mineral Springs Park, 630 Main Street, along the Betsie Valley Trail. With over 50 artists and growing, this open-air gallery transforms one of Frankfort's most beautiful outdoor spaces into a showcase of paintings, sculptures, photography, and fine crafts — all set against the stunning backdrop of the bay. It's the perfect way to spend a holiday morning with family and friends.
