In its 15th Anniversary Season, the Traverse City Dance Project returns with a vibrant six stop summer tour celebrating dance and live music, featuring seven professional dancers from across the country.
Highlights include a new dance work by Jennifer Lott, with music composed by Charlie Millard and performed live by the Charlie Millard Band; NYC-based tap artist Madison Hilligoss; and a premiere by Artistic Director Brent Whitney, followed by a Q&A with the artists. Join us at the Traverse City Open Space for this FREE performance. Live music begins at 6:30 PM with the Charlie Millard Band, and the performance starts at 7:30 PM. Undercurrents explores the emotional intensity and inner turbulence of the Romantic piano quartet tradition. From Brahms’ fiery F-A-E Scherzo to Schumann’s radiant Op. 47, the program builds toward the dramatic sweep of Brahms’ G Minor Piano Quartet, a work brimming with passion, rhythmic drive, and Hungarian-inspired flair.

Riders from across North America compete at Flintfields Horse Park during the FEI North American Youth Championships Young Rider Final. The event showcases the next generation of international equestrian talent in an Olympic-style championship atmosphere in Traverse City.
General admission proceeds this week support Peace Ranch through the Traverse City Horse Shows Charity Ticket Program.

Walk, talk and make art with UMBS resident artist Eric Jackson. During a brief interactive discussion, learn the unique process which goes into Eric's artist-naturalist practice, then join him on an exploration of the preserve as part of his resident project "Field Guide to a Flyway".

The Clay Cubs camp immerses young artists in various clay hand-building techniques while discovering how exciting creating in a real ceramic studio can be. It’s the perfect fit for the camper who likes to get messy and investigate the ceramic medium in depth. All projects are glazed and kiln-fired and will be ready for pickup in 2–3 weeks. The instructor can also make arrangements for shipping projects for a shipping fee. Join us for one session or all summer!
NOTE: Finished pieces are normally ready for pick up within 2–4 weeks.
