In this weekly class, you will discover the joys of expressing yourself through dance with your child. Designed to be both exciting and educational, these classes help in the development of your child's gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and love for music and dance.

Each week, you will experience a warm, supportive environment that encourages self-expression and social interaction. Step into the spirit of the season at the Dennos Museum Center’s cherished Holiday Artist Market—a festive, two-day indoor event celebrating the creativity of 30 talented Michigan artists. Set within the museum’s Sculpture Court and Milliken Auditorium entryway, this juried marketplace offers an inspiring experience for art lovers and holiday shoppers of all ages.
Browse original, heartfelt artwork and handcrafted goods, indulge in treats from a local specialty food vendor, and explore the Museum Store’s Holiday Corner, brimming with artisan-made ornaments, holiday cards, and perfect stocking stuffers. Don’t miss the popular holiday raffle, with prizes donated by participating artists—all proceeds support educational programming for children. Admission is free for all!

Library staff member Brianna (Miss Bri) will be reading stories with a Thanksgiving theme and doing a simple craft with the kids. This program will be held in the library located at 8751 Helena Rd, Alden, 231-331-4318.
The City is excited to team up with Carter’s Compost and SEEDS the 2nd annual Pumpkin Smashing Extravaganza, a community event focused on sustainability and fun, happening on Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the City’s in-vessel composting unit, located at 143 Beitner, next to the City's DPS Facility on Woodmere.
This free event will welcome the public to smash their pumpkins at various activity stations.
In addition, pumpkin drop-off will be allowed from November 1st, and will continue until 1:00 pm on November 8th. Pumpkins should be free to any decorations and paint.
Great Lakes Chamber Orchestra’s Little Waves children’s music program is held throughout the school year at the Petoskey District Library and Charlevoix Public Library. Free and open to the public, the drop-in program is designed to introduce young children (ages 3 - 10) and their families.
The 40-minute program takes place on Saturdays at 10:30 am in Petoskey and 1 pm in Charlevoix. Each unique event features a musical story, an opportunity to hear one or more GLCO musicians demonstrate and explain how their instruments work, and fun music-related activities for kids.
Upcoming dates are Oct. 18; Nov. 8; Jan. 10, 2026; Feb.14, 2026 March 14, 2026; and April 11, 2026.

Want to apply to one of the Glen Arbor Arts Center’s 2026 exhibitions, but not sure of the process? The GAAC will host a one-hour tutorial about its online application process November 8, 11 am. There is no charge.
Gallery Manager Sarah Bearup-Neal will discuss how to apply using the online application, creating effective photographic images of one’s artwork, and writing an artist’s statement. Bearup-Neal will also provide an overview of the GAAC’s 2026 season of exhibitions, the 2026 artist-in-residence program, and deadlines for submissions. This tutorial is open to people interested in exhibiting their artwork, both novice and experienced exhibitors.
