Project Piti Pami is hosting its 1st Annual Hope for Haiti Benefit Dinner on November 8th at the Grand Unity Event Center in Petoskey. This benefit dinner is a fundraiser raising support for medical care for under-served and violence-ravaged communities in Haiti. The benefit dinner will include a Haitian-themed meal, silent auction, and a presentation about the work that we do in Haiti. Tickets are $50 a person or $360 for a table of 8. Ticket sales end on 10/31. Tickets may be purchased at www.3phaiti.org/benefit.
Project Piti Pami is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to serving impoverished people in Haiti through education, advocacy, and service. The organization’s name, Piti Pami, comes from the Haitian Creole term for the “least of these” which is drawn from Matthew 25:40 in the Bible. Our mission is to come alongside and empower Haitian people to better care for their communities through healthcare and health education opportunities. Since our founding in 2017, we have raised over $100,000 towards Haitian-led mobile medical clinics, clean water projects like wells and latrines, nutrition programs, and school nurse programs. More information can be found at our website, www.3phaiti.org. For more information access 3P's website: https://www.3phaiti.org/

Join us for a special edition of Dead Poets Society, celebrating sound, harmonics and frequency!
Details:Date: Nov. 8th and Every 2nd Saturday of the MonthLocation: Blessed Be Tea and ApothecaryTime: 6PM - 7 PM
Suggested Donation: $5-$10 (Donations help keep our community events going, but they are not required to attend.)
Upon arrival, we will gather in a circle and take turns reading poetry in a round-robin style. Poetry may come from poets dead or alive, and our favorites are your own original works! Participation is encouraged but not mandatory—you’re welcome to pass if you don’t have a poem to share. However, it’s always more fun to join in!
Dead Poets Society is a community-based, open-mic style poetry reading event. At Blessed Be, we believe in the power of words and the importance of creating a sacred space for expression. While our group focuses on poetry, we also welcome writers, musicians, and all performance artists to share both mainstream and original works.
Important Note: This event is not specifically geared for children. We ask that parents use discretion when bringing kids, as poetry can sometimes touch on sensitive topics. The event is recommended for ages 15 and up.
What to Expect: Led by Allie Robinson-Ollila, this gathering forms organically, and all are welcome! Walk-ins and tag-a-long friends are always welcome.
Come and be part of our poetic community, where words come alive and everyone’s voice is heard!
Local favorites May Erlewine and Little Dipper join together to bring you a night of country music to dance and sing along to, hosted by the historic Old Art Building. Reprising songs from the best eras of the genre, folks oughta be two-steppin’, line dancin’, and boot-scootin’ all night long. Whether you're there to dance or just sit back and listen, the room will be filled with high energy and classic twang. Adding to the magic, May Erlewine brings back the moniker that she rode in on as Daisy May, blending her soulful presence with the timeless sound of country’s most danceable classics. A night of music, movement, and community you won’t want to miss!
