Join the Benzie Area Historical Society for their upcoming monthly Benzonia Academy Lecture on Thursday, November 13th, at 4 pm at the Mills Community House. Jane Purkis and Jimmy McLaren will share the history of the Benzonia Public Library and Mills Community House, celebrating their 100 years of service to the community.
This presentation is part of the Benzie Area Historical Society’s Benzonia Academy Lecture Series, held on the second Thursday of each month. Admission is by donation, with a recommended donation of $5.

A space for people to share and listen to stories from our lives based on a theme of the evening. Join Kingsley Branch Library & The Kingsley Folk School for a storytelling community circle. Inspired by NPR's The Moth storytelling hour, the Everyone Has a Story series welcomes you to share your personal stories with others to create connections in our community.
Presenters will be given 5 minutes to share stories from their lived experiences with an open-minded circle of fellow storytellers.

Traverse City Light & Power (TCLP) invites customers and community members to attend its upcoming Open House on Thursday, November 13, 2025, to learn more about the utility’s upcoming Time-of-Use (TOU) rates, which will take effect in December 2025 and begin appearing on customers’ January 2026 bills.
The open house will be held at the Traverse City Light & Power Service Center, 1131 Hastings Street, Traverse City, MI 49686, with two opportunities to attend:• 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.• 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
During each session, TCLP staff will explain how Time-of-Use rates work and how they can take advantage of lower-cost energy periods. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about TCLP’s broader efforts to support energy efficiency, sustainability, and reliable service for the Traverse City community.
TADL and Citizens Climate Lobby are partnering to bring you this facilitated film series about various aspects of climate change and how it affects people and our region. Each evening in this series you'll watch a short film or two and then participate in an open discussion about the topic with local environmental enthusiasts and experts.

Presented by Crooked Tree Arts Center of Traverse City, join us for an inspiring evening as we host a special reading for Ekphrastic 2, an exhibit that celebrates the connection between visual art and the written word. Sixteen artists have shared their artwork, and local writers have responded with poetry, short stories, and reflections inspired by the pieces on display.
Everyone is welcome! Come celebrate creativity in all its forms and help us continue to grow the presence of literary arts at Crooked Tree and in our community.
