The Elk Rapids Farmers Market is brought to you by the Elk Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. This Friday morning market offers a wide selection of locally grown fruits and vegetables, fresh flowers and plants, baked goods, cheese, meats and fish, jams, maple syrup, local honey, coffee and tea, lavender products and so much more! In 2025, the Market is open every Friday from 8:00am to Noon from May 30th through October 3rd.
Join community members of all ages in celebrating the founding of our nation in a joyous and patriotic ceremony, 10 am, July 4th at Old Settlers Picnic Grounds on Glen Lake. The traditional raising of the flag by the Glen Lake Fire Department will be led by Chief Bryan Ferguson and will be followed by a singalong of well-loved and familiar patriotic songs.
Gene Kelly, the featured speaker, is an author, retired business owner, and decorated Army veteran. His speech, “You Can Help!,” will explore what we can do to improve our local community as well as our country. He will open with a story by Richard “Dick” Grout about veterans and school children. Dick, a decorated World War II veteran, passed away at the age of 104, on December 19th, 2024. Mr Kelly’s most recent book, Three American Men, is available exclusively at the Cottage Book Store in Glen Arbor.
Pastor Melody Olin of Empire United Methodist Church will deliver the Invocation, and Rob Hansen, Head of the Leelanau School, will read the Declaration of Independence.
Please bring your own lawn chairs. The event is sponsored by the Glen Lake Woman’s Club. After the program the chapel at Old Settlers Park will be open for tours.
Celebrate the Fourth of July weekend with creativity at Art in the Park on Friday, July 4, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This event will transform Mineral Springs Park, located at 630 Main Street along the scenic Betsie Bay, into an open-air gallery. Attendees can explore a wide range of artistic disciplines, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and other crafts, all set against the picturesque backdrop of the park.
Admission to the event is free. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to ensure the best selection and fully experience the unique offerings of each fair.
Charlotte Ross Lee Concerts in the Park Series
Pack a picnic and head to Pennsylvania Park in Downtown Petoskey for Crooked Tree Arts Center’s annual Charlotte Ross Lee Concerts in the Park Series!
Held 12:00 - 1:00 PM each Wednesday and Friday, June 18 through August 15, the concert series brings local musicians to the Gazebo stage.
Bring a lunch, lawn chair, or picnic blanket and enjoy live music in the park! These performances are free and open to the public.

ONEKAMA–Founding artists Les Scruggs and Jamey Barnard announce the annual Art Snake July 5 and 6 from 11:00- 4:00 p.m. at various studios around Portage Lake and Arcadia.
Art Snake is an annual studio tour and art sale of artists in Onekama and Arcadia. The tail of the snake begins on the south side of Portage Lake on Miller Road, wraps around Portage Lake, and ends along M22 with the head of the snake in Arcadia. Look for the snake to visit sculpture, paintings, textiles, jewelry, and more at 10 different locations.
2025 artists include sculptor Les Scruggs; print makers Andrew Jagniecki and Jef Bourgeau; painters Jamey Barnard, Michael Grant, Susan Joseph, Phil Joseph, Melanie Parke, Richard Kooyman, Jim Schuessler, and Kristine Harvey; textile artists Susan Barnard, Mary Fairgrieve; and silversmith Corene Kufta. Some artists work in various media, so come to see what their work has yielded this year!

As part of the Glen Arbor Arts Center’s Walking exhibition (April 1 – May 29, 2025), this facilitated discussion will invite you to explore Solnit’s fascinating perspectives that connect the act of walking to a wide range of social, cultural, and physical touch points.
Join GAAC’s Gallery Manager Sarah Bearup-Neal for four lively conversations that delve into the history and meaning of walking. Wanderlust focuses on the walkers whose everyday and extreme acts have shaped our culture, from philosophers to poets to mountaineers.
