Join us for a transformative two-day experience where we’ll use mixed media art to challenge and change the way we see ourselves through our self-image and mindset.
On Day 1, you’ll use a selfie as a starting point to bring out the stories and inner dialogue you carry. Through painting, collage, and personal symbolism, you’ll give shape to those doubts, fears, and insecurities.
On Day 2, we’ll step into self-compassion. You’ll transform your artwork, layering over your Day 1 creation with words, colors, and images that speak to your true worth. By the end, you’ll have a powerful, positive self-portrait that reflects your inner resilience and the beauty of your unique journey.
End Results:
A tangible piece of self-expression that embodies self-acceptance and personal growth Insightful techniques to confront and rewrite negative self-narratives A nurturing and empowering experience that helps foster self-love and resilience
Former OAC Executive Director Steve Brown brings his two engaging new poetry collections to life through readings and storytelling. The more than 80 poems contained in Trample & Sew and News of Need capture people and places in the process of loving and losing, being left out and worked over, but not without the hope of revelation or redemption.
The event, like Brown’s writing, is meant for a general audience and hopes to connect with listeners and readers on a gut level.
Admission to the one-hour event is free and includes readings and a book sale and signing.
Held on the church grounds, both indoors and outdoors, the event invites the community to come together and enjoy the spirit of German culture. Traditional bratwurst, sauerkraut, hard pretzels, imported Hofbräu beer and German white and red wines will be available, along with an online auction, live music, and a 100ft Really Big Cherry Strudel that will be devoured during the event.
The online auction opens for bidding on September 14th, but is on display now. Find the link on our website and find unique, helpful and adventurous items to win just in time for the holidays.
“Year after year, TC Germanfest has helped us fund some of the bigger improvements our school needs that aren’t covered in our annual budget. And, we have a GREAT time doing it!” says Kyle Smith - Principal at Trinity Lutheran. “All proceeds from the event go directly to supporting the students, faculty, and programs of Trinity Lutheran School and we are so thankful.”
The riotous live musical comedy is based on the hit 1992 film! When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won't be found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid traditions of the church and uptight Mother Superior. Using her sense of humor, disco dance moves, and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. The chase is on as Deloris begins to understand the power of her newly found sisterhood.

Species planted will include flowering plants and grasses.
GTRLC will supply tools and gloves. We will teach you everything you need to know about how to properly handle and plant plugs in the ground. No prior experience is necessary! This is a moderately light, family-friendly activity, though volunteers should be prepared for digging and kneeling. Bathrooms and drinking water are both available on site.
