Honolulu Blues is a comedic play-by-play of historic gridiron failure marked by stunning almost wins and saw-it-coming losses that positions the Detroit Lions lore as the backdrop for exploring themes of generational trauma, addiction, mental illness, and death.

Author Joel Walkowski intertwines the fate of two losers - the Detroit Lions and himself - to explore the broader impact a city's football tam can have on its residents, proving that you can overcome anything if you can learn to love what disappoints you.

The nonpartisan League of Women Voters of Leelanau County (LWVLC) will host a candidate forum on Wednesday, September 30, from 7–8 p.m. at Glen Arbor Township Hall. The forum will give voters an opportunity to hear directly from candidates and learn more about the issues and priorities shaping their community.

The League's candidate forums are designed to provide voters with accessible, factual information about the candidates and the issues they will consider when casting their ballots. All candidates are invited to participate, and the League does not support or oppose candidates

Round up the family and head out to Coy Mountain, located at 9011 Valley St. in Alden, to enjoy a romp in the woods and reading a good book along the way.

The story is placed along a 1/2-mile portion of the trail, and trail is open daily from dawn to dusk.

The 2^nd annual Long Lake Farmers Market will kick off on June 4^th and run every Thursday through October 1^st from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Stop by the market located at Haywood Park, due east of the Long Lake Township Hall at 8870 N Long Lake Rd, Traverse City, Michigan 49685, near the bocce ball courts.

We are excited to create a community-based farmers market that celebrates the historic agricultural traditions of Long Lake Township, while providing opportunities for Long Lake residents and the surrounding community members to buy and sell locally grown and produced products.

Participation is free and open to the public.

Nestled between Four and Five Mile Roads, The Ridge’s wetlands and creeks feed into the Mitchell Creek and East Bay Shoreline watersheds—filtering and protecting water that flows into East Grand Traverse Bay, a primary drinking water source for more than 40,000 residents and countless visitors. It hosts diverse habitats, including the rare perched rich conifer swamp, relic oak-pine savanna and wooded dune-swale complex, all providing essential food and shelter for wildlife that rely on this unique ecosystem. From the top, take in an unparalleled view of Traverse City and Grand Traverse Bay.

From forest-lined back roads to dramatic cloudscapes to humble vistas, these works bring the striking beauty of our everyday landscapes into sharp focus.

Opening reception August 29th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Refreshments will be served, all are welcome.

An Artists’ Talk will be held October 2nd at 2:00 pm.
