Time to Vote: What to Know, What to Trust, and What to Question

Time to Vote: What to Know, What to Trust, and What to Question

With the November election approaching, the League of Women Voters of Leelanau County (LWVLC) will host a public forum focused on helping voters navigate the election with confidence.

“Time to Vote: What to Know, What to Trust, and What to Question” will provide voters with practical, nonpartisan information about the November ballot and the information they encounter during election season.

The forum will explain the two statewide ballot proposals currently headed for the November ballot: the constitutionally required question asking whether Michigan should convene a constitutional convention in 2027 and the Michiganders for Money Out of Politics initiative, which concerns campaign contributions and political communications.

The program will also address the growing challenge of disinformation—misleading or false information that can make it difficult for voters to know what to believe. Participants will learn practical ways to evaluate election information, recognize red flags, and identify reliable, reputable sources before sharing or acting on what they see online or hear from others.

The League's candidate forums and public programs are strictly nonpartisan. The League does not support or oppose candidates or political parties. Its voter education work empowers citizens with the information they need to participate fully in our democracy.

The forum is free and open to the public. All Leelanau County residents are encouraged to attend.
