People who listen to Classical IPR WIAB 88.5 or IPR News Radio WHBP 90.1 FM may be experiencing trouble with their FM reception.
IPR is moving the location of its broadcasting equipment in Emmet County from one tower to another in order to improve broadcast service.
As of April 24, we moved the signals to a backup tower and are broadcasting at a lower power.
We will be using this backup with lower power for a couple of months while we move our equipment to a new tower.
Once the move is finished, we expect better service across Emmet, Charlevoix and Cheboygan counties and the Eastern UP. This change will also save us money.
This may be a good time to try streaming our service on a smart speaker, laptop or mobile device.
Information about streaming and other ways to listen to IPR can be found here.
We appreciate your patience. Please contact us at IPR if you have any questions or need assistance. Email is ipr@interlochen.org and the main phone line is 231.276.4400.

Week of July 13: the building was placed on the slab
Once the building is placed, the generator is operational and the antennas have arrived, the schedule is contingent on the weather and the availability of a tower crew to perform the work.
Current estimate for completion is the end of August.
