Tyler Castellanos
Classical IPR host/music librarianTyler Castellanos is a trumpet player, teacher and classical music host.
Originally from Warner Robins, Ga., Tyler holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trumpet Performance from Texas Tech University, where he developed a passion for brass chamber music and teaching.
Tyler is interested in the historical context of classical music, performance practice, and the emotions music can invoke. His favorite symphony is Jean Sibelius’s Symphony no. 2, which is the first major symphony he performed with an orchestra.
He lives in the Grand Traverse area with his wife, Chelsie, and two cats, Burnt Toast and Gouda.
