At EPA summit, Michigan presses feds to come up with PFAS standards

Ellison said getting national standards for PFAS levels could take more than a decade, but having differing state standards could create a "regulatory nightmare" in the meantime.

The EPA held a national PFAS Summit in Washington on Tuesday to dive into issues surrounding the per-and-polyfluoroalkyl substances which have contaminated groundwater in sites across the country, including 31 known sites here in Michigan.

It drew representatives of state governments, tribes, environmental groups. and federal agencies.

MLive's Garret Ellison has been covering PFAS contamination in Michigan. He was in D.C. for yesterday's summit andjoined Statesidetoday to tell us what was discussed there.
