Overnight warming centers are opening across northern Michigan as subzero temperatures, dangerous wind chills, and lake-effect snow move in through the weekend.

Wind chill values will be as low as 23 degrees below zero.

In addition, the National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook which extends into next Wednesday.

Lake effect snow is expected to continue into Friday night with winds gust from 15 mph up to 30 mph.
