A shy hobbit discovers his true potential in this play presented by OTP youth performers. Bilbo Baggins unexpectedly joins a group of dwarves on an epic quest to reclaim a stolen treasure from the fearsome dragon Smaug. Their travels take them through dangerous lands, facing trolls, goblins and giant spiders. Along the way, Bilbo finds he is brave, a good friend, and ultimately plays a pivotal role in the battle for the treasure.

Join Walloon Lake Association and Conservancy staff on a guided tour of Fields Preserve, one of WLAC’s three ambassador preserves. We’ll explore the fields, forests, and wetlands of this diverse protected area, located just 10 minutes south of Petoskey.
WLAC will provide snowshoes or crampons for participants, if conditions require them. Afterward, we’ll head down the road to Resort Pike Cidery and Winery to warm up over a beverage.

Join artist Doug Cannell as he takes you deeper into the unusual series of artworks he calls Backstories. Cannell is a muti-disciplinary artist who uses woodworking, sculpting, graphic design, writing and photography to create installations that entice viewers to explore them, each revealing a surprising and unconventional story.
