Join us for a vibrant celebration of Indigenous art and culture at the Jordan River Arts Council. This exhibit builds on the success of our 2023 show, showcasing contemporary visual and performing arts rooted in the traditions of Native Peoples from Northwest Michigan. Featuring a diverse array of media, the exhibition honors Indigenous voices and creative excellence. Small works by participating artists are also available for purchase in the JRAC Gift Shop. Join Full Tilt Comedy and the Dennos Museum Center for a Halloween-themed improv experience that reimagines the museum through the eyes of ghosts, ghouls, and the hilariously undead. Professional improvisers pose as fictional docents, leading you on a spirited (and entirely made-up) tour of the galleries.
Choose from two tour times: 7:00pm for a post trick-or-treat or 9:30pm for a mischievous museum romp.

This free, donation-based community event pairs attendees with skilled volunteers who help repair household items—from electronics and clothing to bicycles and furniture. You bring the item. We provide the tools. Our volunteers bring the know-how.
How it works:Bring items for repair: Come with anything from a pair of ripped jeans to a broken plate or an old bike.
Get paired with a fixer: Check in and get matched with a skilled fixer who will help repair your item.
Repair your item: Learn how to repair your item with the guidance of a volunteer and all the tools needed for basic repairs.
A fun, creative way for parents and their children to connect and learn dance together.
In this weekly class, you will discover the joys of expressing yourself through dance with your child. Designed to be both exciting and educational, these classes help in the development of your child's gross motor skills, coordination, balance, and love for music and dance.
Inside a natural-light-filled studio with stunning views of the waterfront, a world-class Interlochen dance instructor will guide you as you strengthen your bond with your child. Each week, you will experience a warm, supportive environment that encourages self-expression and social interaction. Special focus will be placed on rhythm and moving your bodies to the beat of different types of music.
For sale: Locally handmade crafts featuring Scandinavian tomtens made by our crafty church elves, as well as other crafted items you will not find elsewhere. There will also be mouth watering Scandinavian baked goods along with numerous tasty confections that will jumpstart your holiday baking!
Northern Michigan Woman Magazine invites women of all ages to come together for a day of inspiration, learning, and connection at the NoMiWoman Wellness Expo, happening Saturday, November 1, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Kirkbride Hall in Traverse City.
This open-house style event celebrates all things wellness — body, mind, and spirit. Guests can explore a variety of local vendors, meet wellness experts, sample products, and take part in experiences designed to refresh, recharge, and reconnect.
“We wanted to create a space where women could discover new ways to care for themselves and feel supported by their community,” says Kerry Winkler, founder of Northern Michigan
Woman Magazine. “Northern Michigan has so many talented women who are passionate about helping others live well — this event is a chance to bring them all together in one inspiring place.”

PAINTING WITH WOOL:Felted SunsetNOVEMBER 1, 2025SATURDAY1 - 4 pm

CLASS FEE: $50 or $45 for Members
This class is a fun beginner friendly introduction to needle felting. Painting with wool teaches two-dimensional needle felting, using wool fibers as "paint" to create art on fabric. Participants will create a two dimensional work of art crafted from wool. Students are encouraged to bring a photo they would like to use for reference (landscapes, or a favorite pet for example). Needle Felting is a very forgiving fun medium. Come stab your stress away, and bring home a piece of art!
