Join us for Outdoor Story Time! Outside the library, overlooking the beach. Please bring a blanket for your family to sit on.These story times are geared toward pre-k to second graders and their caregivers, but fun for all who attend!
Rain site is the library’s lower level Community Room.
Come to the museum and join an informal tour of our current exhibitions with one of our docents.
Tours are free with museum admission and will begin at 12:00 PM. Please meet by the front desk a few minutes before the tour begins.

Images and poetry are the essence of the Glen Arbor Arts Center’s current Lobby Gallery exhibit. Poetic Visions Of Port Oneida: Painting And Poems That Reimagine is a series of oil paintings and corresponding poems created by Grand Traverse County artist Wendy McWhorter. This exhibition is in the GAAC’s Lobby Gallery through August 27, 2026.

This beginner-friendly class is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of gouache painting. Whether you’re completely new to painting or looking to add a new medium to your toolkit, Claudia will guide you through the techniques, tools, and creative possibilities of gouache. Gouache (pronounced “gwash”) is an opaque water-based paint that combines the versatility of watercolor with the vibrancy and opacity of acrylic. Fine artists and illustrators love gouache for its smooth matte finish, ability to be reworked, and bold colors.

Designed for young learners and their caregivers, this playful program brings our mission to life—building community, inspiring creativity, and learning together in the Discovery Gallery.
