Each class will start off with a brief illustrated presentation, beginning with The History Of Landscape Painting, and moving on to newly featured artists for 2026, including Claude Monet, Wassily Kandinsky, Fairfield Porter, and Wolf Kahn. Sgraffito, which originates from the Italian word for scratch, is an accent technique used in ceramics to create a decorative design on ceramic work. A layer of color underglaze is added to the piece, and simple carving tools are used to scratch through the color to the contrasting clay body below to allow the pattern to stand out.
