Building on their former Creative Wellness Retreat, this reimagined, month-long series invites participants to slow down, reflect, and reconnect through visual arts, writing, movement, meditation, and nature-based practices.
Program offerings will take place at both the Glen Arbor Arts Center in Glen Arbor and the GAAC Ceramics Studio at historic Thoreson Farm, part of the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
Programs are open to adults, with a mix of paid and free events available throughout the month.

Something To Smile About: Mixed Media Paintings By Carol C Spaulding
Leelanau County artist Carol C Spaulding brings Something To Smile About, a small group of new mixed media paintings, to the Glen Arbor Arts Center’s Lobby Gallery. The exhibition runs September 2 - December 17.
Working intuitively, Spaulding combines cut-paper collage with exuberant painting. She creates lively compositions in a bright, uplifting palette, full of expressive lines, inserting an array of delightful marks and icons. “I like to begin with an open mind and a playful attitude,” Spaulding said.
Something To Smile About may be viewed in the Lobby Gallery or online, GlenArborArt.org / EXHIBITS.
The GAAC is open:Monday - Friday, 9 am - 3 pmSaturday and Sunday, noon - 4 pm
Come on out to help plant native plugs at the Arcadia Marsh Nature Preserve! Volunteers will learn about and take an active part in the Conservancy’s ongoing habitat restoration projects by assisting with planting native plugs grown in GTRLC’s very own greenhouse.
GTRLC will supply all materials necessary for the workday. We will teach you everything you need to know to properly plant our native species. No prior experience is necessary! This is a moderately light, family-friendly activity, though volunteers should be prepared for digging and kneeling. There is a restroom available at the St. Pierre end of the Marsh, but no drinking water on site.

Every year the Conservancy sends out appeals for support to further our mission of protecting land, and every year we are overwhelmed with gratitude for the generosity of our donors. We have found that spending time writing simple yet personal “thank you” notes for our donors is a fantastic way to share our appreciation.
GTRLC will provide all materials for writing “thank you” notes, but please feel free to bring your own writing utensil if you prefer.
Directions: Please meet us at the Conservation Center at Mitchell Creek Meadows Nature Preserve. Park in any designated space and come in the front entrance. We’ll meet you there and put you to work!
Join us for an introduction on E-Books, E-Audiobooks and More! Each library will present on the specific digital collections they offer.
Bring your device, your library card and your questions!
