Get set for an exciting morning of racing at the Grand Traverse County Civic Center. 150 young racers will showcase their skills and determination on the balance bike course, and you can cheer them on to the finish line!
This event is free and open exclusively to balance bikes for young riders aged 2-5.
This open-air, juried fine art and fine crafts show will feature fine artists across a variety of media, including: clay, fiber, glass, jewelry, metal, painting, photography, sculpture and more.
Join community members of all ages in celebrating the founding of our nation in a joyous and patriotic ceremony, 10 am, July 4th at Old Settlers Picnic Grounds on Glen Lake. The traditional raising of the flag by the Glen Lake Fire Department will be followed by a singalong of well-loved and familiar patriotic songs. The event is sponsored by the Glen Lake Woman’s Club. Bench seating is limited and guests are invited to bring lawn chairs. After the program the chapel at Old Settlers Park will be open for tours. The Ceremony and Chapel tours are concluded in plenty of time to make it to the Glen Arbor Parade.
Marge Maxbauer, Chair of the 4th of July Celebration Committee, is pleased to announce that Ed Peplinski is the featured speaker. Mr. Peplinski is an Air Force Veteran. His Independence Day speech is titled, “Pulling Together as Americans through Gratitude.”
In addition to the 4th of July Flag Raising Ceremony, other Club projects include The Glen Arbor Art Fair (July 15th), the improvement and beautification of the Chapel and grounds at Old Settlers Park, Empire Trunk or Treat, and a Christmas party for residents of the Maple Valley Nursing Home. This annual festival, put on the Ludington Area Jaycees, brings family fun to the holiday!
The grand parade steps off at 2 p.m. and can be seen on Ludington Avenue west of Washington Avenue.
The fireworks over Lake Michigan begin at dusk and can be viewed from any local beach.
