Learn and practice wedging, centering, throwing, and trimming basic forms. Enjoy one-on-one interaction as you learn the skills needed to become comfortable working on the potter’s wheel. In addition, the class will include the basics of decorating, glazing, and firing finished work. The Open Studio option includes eight days of access plus one 25-lb bag of clay. Capture your furry friend in watercolor! Learn to paint pets with personality—whether realistic or vivid and wild—while receiving guidance for individual success. In this fun, beginner-friendly class, students will explore value, color, and expressive techniques to bring their pet portraits to life. Through step-by-step demonstrations, students will be guided in using tools and techniques while providing hands-on support as they create their own artwork. Learning happens through doing, so students will be painting from the start. Leave with new watercolor skills and a one-of-a-kind portrait that reflects each pet’s unique personality.

This group will gather once a month to share and learn more about the value of creativity in our daily lives. Over a warm mug of brewed tea/coffee (or ice tea/lemonade in the summer!), come connect with others, share ideas, find inspiration, and practical tips to lead a more creative and whole-hearted approach to life. Each month, in addition to checking in with one another, we will explore different practices (journaling, stitching, collaging, photography) that may pique your creative curiosity.
Each week the group will meet at the front desk of the Glen Arbor Art Center and will move to locations such as Pine Street Studio, the GAAC Classroom, the GAAC grove or Thoreson Farm.

Curious about drawing but not sure where to start? This one-day Drawing Fundamentals workshop is the perfect introduction to the basics of drawing in a fun, relaxed environment. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to refresh your skills, this hands-on session will give you the tools to start drawing with confidence.
Participants will explore foundational techniques such as line, shape, shading, proportion, and perspective. Through guided exercises and simple still-life drawing, you’ll learn how to see like an artist and translate what you see onto paper.
