Old Kirke and other buildings open for viewing
The Old Kirke Museum will be among seven of Manistee's most historical buildings, all on The National Register of Historic Places, open for public touring on Saturday, July 1, 2023 from 11am to 2pm and again on Monday, July 3, from 11 to 2pm. The Old Kirke Museum is housed in the oldest Danish Lutheran church building in the United States. Admission is free.
Other buildings include the First Congregational Church, designed by William LeBaron Jenny, architect of the world’s first skyscraper, Manistee Fire House, oldest operating fire station in the USA, The Manistee County Historical Museum (small entry fee may be asked), Guardian Angels Church, Rectory & Schoolhouse, Church of the Holy Trinity, and the beautiful Ramsdell Theatre.
