In Studio A with Steve Larson, pianist

Steve Larson shared the science of accompanying silent films in Studio A

The coordinator of music for dance at Interlochen will be scoring a silent film at the Music House Museum.

On Friday, June 17th, the Music House Museum in Williamsburg will be showing Harold Lloyd's silent film, "Speedy."

Pianist Steve Larson will provide the live piano score for the film. Steve is no stranger to accompanying movement and improvisation - he's the Coordinator of Music for Dance at Interlochen Arts Academy. Our lucky dancers have their music created for them on the fly!

Steve visited Studio A to talk about the intricacies of accompanying silent movies, and shares some music cues and tricks of the trade.

"Speedy" will show at the Music House at 5:30 and 7:30 on Friday night. For tickets and more information, please visit musichouse.org.
