In Studio A with Kaleb Zhu

Kaleb Zhu

Oboist Kaleb Zhu is a senior at Interlochen Arts Academy.

In addition to his studies, Kaleb is a fitness enthusiast who spends quite a bit of time in the Dennison Center for Recreation and Wellness on the Interlochen campus.

When asked about making oboe reeds, Kaleb gave a practical answer. He explained why he prefers to focus on the task alone.

"The more distracted you are, the more likely you are going to ruin whatever you're working on," He said. "That will just waste time and cause you stress."

Recently, with pianist Ya-Ju Chuang, Kaleb Zhu performed Poem by Marina Dranishnikova in Studio A at Interlochen Public Radio.
