Staffing and programming updates for Classical IPR: May 2026

Classical IPR will bid farewell to Nancy Deneen following her decades of service to the station.

On Friday, May 22, Nancy Deneen will host her final shift at Classical IPR.

Nancy has been a part of Interlochen since she first attended camp as a high school student studying the oboe.

Since joining the IPR staff in 1993, Nancy has been the face and voice of the station for tens of thousands of listeners.

Her tenure at IPR includes the split of the station into Classical IPR and IPR News, the construction of a new IPR building, the change from CDs to a digital music library and countless staffing and leadership changes. Through it all, Nancy has remained a steadfast, reliable companion for Classical IPR listeners and a trusted colleague at Interlochen Center for the Arts.

IPR wishes Nancy all the best as she departs to pursue other interests.

A new host for Music at Midday and Music by Request will be announced later in May. In the interim, Kevin LaRose, Isabel Li and Amanda Sewell will share hosting duties of these programs.

Classical IPR is also making a few adjustments to its Sunday programming schedule.
