Need a Valentine's serenade? Ask a barbershop quartet to sing love songs at your front door

Dick Hartrick, Doug Powers, Bob Gray and George Tatro of Northern Exposure with host Christy L'Esperance.

The Cherry Capital Men's Chorus quartet Northern Exposure sang a sneak peek of this year's "Singing Valentines" on Classical IPR.

What could be more romantic than love songs sung live? As Valentine's Day approaches, consider treating your special someone to a live quartet performance — a "Singing Valentine" presented by a local Traverse City a capella quartet.

The Cherry Capital Men's Chorus barbershop quartet, Northern Exposure, includes tenor Dick Hartrick, lead Doug Powers, bass Bob Gray and baritone George Tatro. They joined Christy L'Esperance to preview some of this year's Valentine melodies live on "Morning Classical" and announce their annual Valentine's Day tradition of delivering "Singing Valentines."

When you order a "Singing Valentine," a quartet arrives at your chosen location, performs two love songs in four-part harmony and gives your Valentine a red rose and personalized card.

The valentines will be delivered on February 13 or 14 — which leaves an opportunity to surprise your valentine a day early, or for businesses to give a shout-out to their employees.
