The Kodak Quartet brings live chamber music to Traverse City this Wednesday during happy hour at The Little Fleet.

The Kodak Quartet is redefining the string quartet experience. If you ask them about their summer in northern Michigan, they'll mention beach popups, playground gigs, interactions with Interlochen students and an upcoming Classical Happy Hour performance in Traverse City.

This was the quartet's second year as resident artists with Interlochen Public Radio's Sound Garden Project. The members are also the string quartet fellows at Interlochen Arts Camp.

But they're taking off this Wednesday, July 2 to play at the Little Fleet in Traverse City.

The Kodak Quartet formed in Rochester, NY while attending the Eastman School of Music and is currently based in New York. The ensemble has performed with GRAMMY-winning artists Time for Three, Kronos Quartet, and JACK Quartet.

Hear them live this Wednesday, July 2, at 5:30 p.m. during IPR's Classical Happy Hour series at the Little Fleet.

They'll also play a recital on Wednesday, July 23 at 7:30 p.m. on Interlochen's campus (details here).

The members of Kodak Quartet are Edgar Donati (violin), Martin Noh (violin), Daniel Spink (viola) and Blake Kitayama (cello).

Dr. Amanda Sewell is IPR's music director.
