The Cherry Capital Men's Chorus barbershop quartet Northern Exposure stopped by IPR to give a preview of this year's musical valentines.

The Northern Exposure quartet joined Christy L'Esperance during "Morning Classical" to give a sneak peek of their heartfelt serenades this season. Dick Hartrick, Doug Powers, Bob Gray and George Tatro treated listeners to a singing Valentine with their rendition of "Let me call you sweetheart."

They and other members of the Cherry Capital Men's Chorus are offering both in-person and virtual singing valentines, delivered by their talented barbershop quartets.

" We're going to have three different quartets that will be canvassing the city, going around anywhere within a 25 mile radius throughout the course of the day on Friday," says Doug Powers.

The quartet has done this for many years, but a few Valentine visits have stood out. They visited a hospital, planning to sing for one of the patients. When they arrived they learned that she has just died earlier that hour. Even though the family was grieving, they asked the quartet to stay and sing for them.
