IPR presents: Viridian Strings at Oliver Art Center

Guitarists Matthew Cochran and Matthew McAllister perform together.

Join Viridian Strings at Oliver Art Center on Friday, June 9 at 7 p.m. for a program entitled "Musical Rivals." Purchase tickets on the Oliver Art Center website.

The string sextet's program will include two of the most captivating string chamber works ever written. First, be swept away by Brahms' G Major String Sextet, a masterpiece that showcases the composer's deep understanding of the string ensemble. Then, brace yourself for Tchaikovsky's emotionally charged "Souvenir de Florence," a virtuosic triumph full of sweeping melodies.

But there's more to this concert than just stunning music. As you listen, you'll also learn about the composers' tense musical relationship, adding a fascinating layer of depth and drama to the performance.
