BATA adds electric vans to fleet as it seeks to phase out gas, diesel vehicles

Northern Michigan’s Bay Area Transportation Authority has purchased six electric vans that will hit the roads around Grand Traverse and Leelanau counties in the coming months.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer has signed an executive directive to use the example and economic power of the state to encourage the transition to zero-emission vehicles.

Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive directive Tuesday instructing state departments and agencies to accelerate their transition to zero-emission vehicles.
