Jonathan Eig is known for his biographies about famous sports figures such as Lou Gehrig, Jackie Robinson, and Muhammad Ali. For his latest book, he took on one of the most important figures of the 20th century: Martin Luther King Jr. Jonathan’s book, called “King: A Life,” won the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for biography. Jonathan spoke with columnist Isiah Smith at the City Opera House in Traverse City in March of 2025.
