You probably know Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” and probably even that it’s part of his 9th symphony.

But the Ode to Joy is only a small part of a huge movement of a massive symphony.

There had never been anything like this piece before, and all this week we’re going to take you on a tour of the fourth and final movement of Beethoven’s Symphony no. 9, including that famous Ode to Joy.

That entire fourth movement is about 25 minutes long, so we’ll listen to a little bit of it each day this week.
