Tell us about the books you love

Interlochen Public Radio is celebrating great books with the National Writers Series, Friends of Traverse Area District Library and Harbor Springs Festival of the Book.

We want your help.

Tell us about a book you can’t forget. We’ll record your stories on Saturday, Sept. 28 at one of two locations: the Friends fall book sale in Traverse City, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Harbor Springs Festival, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Inspiration for this project comes from the Bookmarks series from “To The Best of Our Knowledge.” The show’s host Anne Strainchamps will be at Crooked Tree Arts Center on Tuesday, Oct. 15, to share book recommendations from the world’s greatest authors. Let us know you are coming and invite friends on Facebook.

The next night, Oct. 16, Anne will interview Susan Orlean at the National Writers Series about her investigative story, “The Library Book.” It’s about the burning of the Los Angeles Library in 1986.

Peter Payette is the Executive Director of Interlochen Public Radio.
