In Studio A with the Interlochen String Trio

Amanda Sewell

Violinist Ara Sarkissian, violist Renee Skerikand cellist Patrick Owen are members of the Interlochen Arts Academy string faculty.

They'll give a recital tonight, and they stopped by IPR's Studio A to give listeners a preview of some music that will appear on that recital.

They also explained what makes the Scherzo movement of Beethoven's string trio op. 9, no. 1 particularly interesting.

Listen to the performance and conversation below.

Music performed: Beethoven, String Trio op. 9, no. 1 in G major, second and third movements

Sarkissian, Skerik and Owen will perform tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Dendrinos Chapel and Recital Hall at Interlochen.

The recital is free, and no tickets are required. Click here for more information. They'll be joined by pianist Chi Yong Yun.

Brock Morman engineered this edition of Studio A.

Dr. Amanda Sewell is IPR's music director.
