State House resolution asks Inman to resign

Michigan House of Representatives

The resolution was introduced by Speaker of the State House Rep. Lee Chatfield (R-Levering) and Rep. Christine Greig (D-Farmington Hills).

They asked Rep. Larry Inman (R-Williamsburg) to resign his post or face further punishment in the legislature

"Representative Larry Inman’s pattern of conduct, including both the actions alleged in the indictment and numerous public statements made afterward, has drawn ridicule and disgrace to the state of Michigan and the Michigan House of Representatives," the resolution read.

Greig says expelling Inman from the House is still an option.

"The goal is to restore faith in our institution," Greig said. "Not only for representing the district but also the institution itself that we urge Representative Inman to resign."

Last month, Inman was charged with extortion, taking a bribe and lying to the FBI. He has plead not guilty to all charges.
