Samaritans' Closet opens new home in Lake Leelanau

LCN
Samaritans' Closet opened its new location Tuesday in Lake Leelanau.

Samaritans’ Closet in Lake Leelanau has a new home.

The store, which sells used items, opened Tuesday off of M-204 behind Leelanau Christian Neighbors (LCN).

Samaritans’ Closet and LCN merged last year, making the expansion possible.

“We couldn’t be more excited to open our doors to the public,” LCN Executive Director Mary Stanton said in a press release. “We will have more resources to help more people all year long.”

The new space is twice the size of the old building.

“It will not only be easier for our customers to shop the store, it will be easier for the public to make donations,” she said.

That’s because the store is now more than 3,000 square feet, making more room for donations, according to the press release.

LCN is a team of 13 churches in Leelanau County that work to help those in need.

“The LCN elected Board of Directors meets throughout the year to ensure appropriate and responsible planning and management for the organization’s four programs: Food Pantry, Financial Assistance, Blessings in a Backpack and the LCN Baby Pantry,” states LCN’s website.
