Meet Julie. She visits ICE detainees in Baldwin whose families can't always get to them

Julie Cordier keeps a binder filled with notes on each person’s name, some details about them, and how often she’s seen them. She guesses she's visited between 15 and 20 detainees at the North Lake Processing Center.

"You actually feel like, oh my gosh, this is probably one of the very most important things I've ever done in my life," Cordier told IPR. "Honestly, not everybody in our church is wanting to get involved with it. I think a lot of people have preconceived ideas about the migrant population."

We hear her story, plus we meet a composer who takes inspiration — and sound — from the natural world to make his music.
