This week: We wrap up our examination of northern Michigan's childcare crisis by hearing from providers and learning about a new approach near Northport.

Childcare in our region usually comes in one of two flavors — either a full-on childcare center, or childcare run out of someone's home.

Both methods have pros and cons for the people who run them.

But what if you could take the best of each and put them together? That's the goal behind a "microcenter."

We'll hear about this week as we continue listening to stories from the IPR News series "A Crisis of Care."

Visit a childcare center in Traverse City, a home-based care facility in Petoskey, and come with us to Northport to hear about a new model of childcare altogether.

You can read the entire series and find additional materials here.
