We’re in the middle of a full-blown biodiversity crisis on this planet. And a scary subset of this larger crisis is the problems with pollinators. The American bumblebee population has declined by 90% in the last two decades. So people stepped up to do something, and the “save the bees” efforts have spread far and wide. But what if all those backyard colonies are making the problem worse? In this episode, we take an in-depth look at whether raising domesticated bees is harming the wild species we need to preserve biodiversity.
