Welcome to Intermezzo from Interlochen Public Radio, where we take a few minutes to bounce some ideas around about classical music.
Our co-host Millie has been explaining the movie "KPop Demon Hunters" this week, and host Christy L'Esperance been sharing some information about string quartets. Yesterday, we talked about Huntrix and the power that the singers have by sparking positive energy among their fans.
Together, Rumi, Zoey and Mira are strong and powerful. But during an important concert in the movie, that's not what happens.
The Saja Boys have become very famous and the good energy is shrinking. Rumi has been hiding her half-demon truth from her friends and her own shame is tearing them apart as a group and as friends.
The characters rely on trust and loyalty, keeping each other grounded. When they champion friendship and togetherness, Huntrix is powerful in protecting the Honmoon and uniting their audiences.
A quartet is like that. The four players are constantly communicating with each other through body language and the music, working together to make one cohesive sound. They are small but mighty and can even represent an entire string orchestra.
Let's hear both Huntrix and the Vitamin String Quartet light up the world with positivity with their performances of "Golden."
