Siggy Ehrlich

Classical IPR fellow

Siggy Ehrlich is a recent music and history double major graduate of Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley, Massachusetts.

Their academic interests stem from how music, culture and people intertwine. They also completed a career-track minor in museums, archives and public history that took them to Vienna, Austria for a semester of study and an internship at the music library of the Wiener Staatsoper.

Siggy's study abroad experience brought them to ensemble librarianship, having most recently served as an ensemble librarian intern for Interlochen Arts Camp.

Their earliest interests in classical music began with ballet and cello, before switching to their primary instrument: string bass. At Mount Holyoke, they played in the Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Jazz ensembles.

Siggy also hosted a radio show on WMHC South Hadley 91.5 entitled “everything is romantic (era)” where they were able to share favorite western classical pieces alongside popular music.

They are excited to return to the land of the stately pines and continue to explore music research opportunities and spaces with Classical IPR.

When not researching their new favorite musicians and composers Siggy enjoys knitting, reading and swimming.
