Katie Schlomer

Katie joined the philanthropy team for IPR in 2017 and enjoys the opportunity to support a public radio station that is small but mighty - from curated classical music on the airwaves to the sound-rich local reporting on IPR News in general, and Points North in particular.

She has been IPR’s Operations and Engagement Director since 2022, and uses her training as an occupational therapist to improve internal station systems and to support new endeavors around IPR’s listener footprint. During her tenure she has been especially motivated to gather people as a community and elevate IPR’s regional reach by creating or expanding events such as Pints North, the Sound Garden Project, and Kids Commute Live to name a few.

Katie lives in Traverse City and loves exploring nature in northern Michigan with her husband and their dog. She especially loves it when her three children gather at home between their travels and studies around the state and the globe.
