The Next Idea

After more than three years, our innovation series, The Next Idea, will soon come to an end.
Stateside has been checking in with some of our previous contributors to see how they’re doing.

Jamiel Robinson, founder and curator of the group Grand Rapids Area Black Businesses (GRABB), has joined Stateside before, and when we last talked to him, one of his goals was to establish a black business district.

Now he's taking the next step by purchasing a property.

Listen above for the full conversation to hear Robinson's update on GRABB. You'll hear about the location they've settled on, who they're working with, and what this means for the city of Grand Rapids.

There's also a Next Idea Issues & Ale community conversation event tonight in Ann Arbor titled "Compete, collaborate or stagnate." Learn more here if you're interested.
