Education Secretary Betsy DeVos and her family are invested in a company called Neurocore, a brain performance company. She sat on the board of the company until she became one of President Trump’s cabinet members.

A recent piece in the Washington Post looked at Neurocore. Its author, Ulrich Boser, is a senior fellow at the left-leaning Center for American Progress.

Why did he become interested in Neurocore?

With seven of its nine centers in Michigan “the company argues that their specific approach to brain enhancement, which they call Neurofeedback, can help everything from ADHD to anxiety, to depression, to attention issues and I was just curious about the company and what they promised,” Boser said.

Boser’s findings brought him to the conclusion that Betsy DeVos has “ignored evidence for so long” and has reason to believe “she is someone who pushes profits over people.”
