Join District staff in planting of native trees and shrubs at Medalie Park! Wet-tolerant species will be hand-planted in lowland areas along the shores of Boardman Lake to help improve stormwater uptake, water quality, and wildlife habitat. Please bring sturdy footwear, work gloves, and a your favorite planting shovel, if you hae one. Extra shovels will be available along with light snacks and water.

Come out to help plant native plugs at Misty Acres! Volunteers will learn about and take an active part in the Conservancy’s ongoing habitat restoration projects by assisting with planting native plugs grown in GTRLC’s very own greenhouse.
The Basics:
GTRLC will supply all materials necessary for the workday, and teach you everything you need to know to properly plant our native species. No prior experience is necessary! This is a moderately light, family-friendly activity, though volunteers should be prepared for digging and kneeling.

A few things to note:
- Classes last 1 - 1.5 hours depending on the size of your group. If your group is larger than 6 people, please reach email us (classes@grocersdaughter.com) so that we make arrangements for our larger space.
- Please let us know if anyone in your group has allergies and we'll do our best to accommodate them.
- Class age: 12 years + (we can cater this class to a younger audience with advance notice)
- Class participants receive 10% off all purchases the day of the class.

Louis P. De Gouy (1876–1947), one of the world’s great cooks, apprenticed under his father, Jean H. De Gouy, Esquire of Cuisine at the courts of Austria and Belgium, and under the great Maître Escoffier. He served as Master Chef and Chef Steward in France, England, Spain, the United States, and many other countries. Best known for his 30-year career at New York City’s Waldorf Astoria, Chef De Gouy was a founder of Gourmet magazine and the author of 16 cookbooks, including The Pie Book and The Soup Book.

Three Seasons Gallery at The Botanic Garden at Historic Barns Park presents "Bloom", art exhibit of Spring and Summer gardens, orchards and area farmsteads. Micro-Fiction: Visual StorytellingFrame by frame: tell a micro-story in images. We will use various materials and techniques to create short graphic stories.Free Play: Studio Sessions is a new program designed for adults who want to engage in creative activity through playful explorations of artistic media and ideas in a relaxed, supportive, and social environment.Pre-registration is preferred, but drop-ins are welcome as space allows.
