Old Town Playhouse is headed back to the '80s when hair was big, greed was good, collars were up and a wedding singer was the coolest guy in the room! It’s 1985, and rock star wannabe Robbie Hart is New Jersey's favorite wedding singer. He's the life of the party until his own fiancée leaves him at the altar. Shot through the heart, Robbie makes every wedding as disastrous as his own. Enter Julia, a winsome waitress who wins his affection. As luck would have it, Julia is about to be married to a Wall Street shark, and, unless Robbie can pull off the performance of a decade, the girl of his dreams will be gone forever.

May brings thousands of migrating birds to Lake Michigan, and Lighthouse West is their last stop in Leelanau County, a welcome drop-out spot after a long, long flight from the Tropics. We will walk slowly and carefully, taking time to look for birds, of course (so bring binoculars!), but also to look at the habitat and topography of Lighthouse West and consider what makes it such a bird-friendly place.
Join us for a full day of speakers, discussion and live demos about the impacts of toxic home environments on human health and chronic illnesses. The Healthy & Sustainable Building Symposium is on Saturday, May 11th, 9am-5pm at 414 E. Eighth Street in Traverse City. If you are a builder, health professional, homeowner, or someone who is interested in learning about how our home environments can impact our health and wellbeing, please join us! Lunch by Oryana will be provided. Tickets, list of speakers and topics are available online at www.canaryhomes.org/events.
This event is co-hosted by The Crosshatch Green Building Guild and The Canary Homes Initiative (a group of Michigan-based designers, builders, and healthcare professionals focused on setting new health standards in housing by reducing exposure to harmful toxins).
