Housing in Leelanau County has become unattainable for many working people and families - from school teachers to police officers to those working in the service industry. Home prices have risen and rental housing has been convertedto vacation rentals. These two parcels present an opportunity to build workforce housing that is needed to keep our community strong while maintaining SuttonsBay’s unique character.
We are seeking community input about the types of housing needed and what would fit seamlessly into the Suttons Bay community. Peninsula Housing is a non-profit community land trust committed to providing affordable housing in Suttons Bay and Leelanau County (www.peninsula-housing.org)
This will be program for the monthly meeting of the Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society, and it will be followed by a short business meeting.
