Walloon Lake Hosts Summer Long Consenses Walks - Progressive Cultural Experience Honors Hemingway, Local Artists & Downtown Businesses

A free public Opening Consenses Walk and Artists Panel Discussion, led by Sally Taylor herself, is planned for Tuesday, June 24 at 5pm at the Talcott Center in Walloon Lake. This inaugural walk will be the first time any of the featured artists will see their pieces together and see how the collective Consenses experience was masterfully woven together. Learn how each piece inspired the next and stay for an artist Q+A panel at The Talcott.
There will be silent auctions items and a LIVE Walloon inspired painting activation available to bid on. Proceeds will help fund an art enrichment activity for kids this summer at the library.
This casual evening will celebrate art, recreation, our local arts community, and help us make our mark as a world class destination for this one-of-a-kind installation.
Katherine Reay will discuss her latest novel, The English Masterpiece, set in the art world of 1970s London. It follows the dilemma faced by Lily, a young assistant at the Tate Museum, as she races against the clock to uncover the truth about a Picasso masterpiece.

Help us restore and protect the incredible ecosystem at Mt. Minnie Nature Preserve by aiding in invasive plant removal! Native wildflowers, mushrooms, trees, and shrubs that rely on this healthy habitat are currently under threat of being displaced by populations of invasive garlic mustard.
GTRLC supplies all tools necessary for the work being done. We will teach you everything you need to know about tool use, safety, and the importance of the work you will be doing. No experience necessary - just come ready to learn something new! This activity is moderately strenuous, with volunteers often bending over to pull plants. This task will require hiking around 1 mile to reach our worksite. There is no access to restrooms or drinking water at this site.
Meet the Traverse Area District Library Youth Services team at the museum for art-inspired storytime this summer.
Each session will feature a different artistic theme and will be followed by a related art project with Dennos staff and volunteers.
