The Guided Walking History Tours of Traverse City will begin its tenth season on July 9th, following the National Cherry Festival.
The informative tour is about two and a half hours covering a two-mile route. The tours begin at the Perry Hannah Plaza, located at the corner 6th and Union St. near downtown.
There is no charge for the tours, but gratuities for the guides are appreciated. Groups of six or more can schedule tours at other times.
For 2025 our 10:00 AM walking tours begin on Wednesday July 9th and continue daily through October 8th. No reservations are needed, simply arrive by 10:00 AM please.

Petoskey, MI — Harbor Hall is inviting the Northern Michigan community to join us for a special event, “Share the Warmth,” on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 12:00–2:00 PM at Harbor Hall Residential & Main Office, 704 Emmet Street, Petoskey.As temperatures drop, many local families struggle to stay warm. Harbor Hall is collecting gently used coats, hats, and gloves to be distributed to individuals and families in need throughout the community.This year’s event features a special partnership with The Sports Marketing Agency and an appearance by an NFL alumni guest, who will join staff, volunteers, and community members to raise awareness and inspire generosity.
“Winter in Northern Michigan can be tough,” said Barb Weston, CEO. “We want to make sure everyone has a way to stay warm — and to show how much our community cares for one another.”
Donations can be dropped off at the event or in advance at Harbor Hall’s main office during regular business hours. All are welcome to attend, meet the special guest, and help spread warmth and kindness this winter season.
Join us for Volunteer Happy Hour! We'll have some library tasks to work on as a group, plus time for snacks and chit-chat. This is a drop-in event, so please feel free to join us if you're able.

Jane Purkis and Jimmy McLaren will share the history of the Benzonia Public Library and Mills Community House, celebrating their 100 years of service to the community.
This presentation is part of the Benzie Area Historical Society’s Benzonia Academy Lecture Series, held on the second Thursday of each month. Admission is by donation, with a recommended donation of $5.
