If the garden brings you joy, this watercolor workshop will put a kick in your step. First, we’ll look back in art history at watercolor artists celebrated for their paintings inspired by gardens. We’ll discuss style and technique. Our subject for this 2-day workshop is the nasturtium, a cheerful flowering plant that keeps on blossoming throughout the summer, and adds a splashy pop of color as a garnish to any plate. You’ll work through a step-by-step guided process, drawing from a photograph and layering watercolor washes to bring your painting to life. Expect plenty of demos, good humor, and an encouraging group studio space. Return home with a joyful painting and a handful of nasturtium seeds to plant in your garden.
